Indian student Neelam Shinde, who was involved in a road accident in California, is currently in a coma.
Her family has been granted an emergency visa to travel to the US. Neelam Shinde was involved in a serious road accident on February 14.
She sustained serious injuries in the accident. She has been in a coma in the hospital since then.
Family members' visa approvals
On February 16, her family received information from her roommate. Family members revealed that her condition has improved slightly. The US embassy has granted her an emergency visa .Neelam's father Tanaji Shinde will leave for the USA on Saturday.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Actions. Steps were taken by MEA to grant emergency visa to Neelam's family. Government of India responded immediately and expedited the visa process.

The Indian Consulate in San Francisco has expressed its full support to the family of Neelam Shinde.
It is in constant touch with the hospital, family members and friends. It has announced that it is providing the necessary assistance to the family.

X (Twitter). It said that it is providing full support to Neelam's family. Regular updates on Neelam's health condition will be provided regularly on her health condition. Consultations are ongoing with the Indian government to provide better treatment in the hospital. Tanaji Shinde & family members will travel to the US. Neelam will be by her side and provide mental & emotional support. The government, political leaders and the Indian Consulate have given immediate response to the situation of Indian student Neelam Shinde, who met with an accident in California.
