Prime Minister Modi said that health is not only a personal choice but also a responsibility towards the family. He said that this problem can be overcome by reducing the consumption of oil and carbohydrates and by exercising.

Obesity is a cause of health problems

Prime Minister Modi mentioned that according to WHO data, more than 250 million people worldwide were suffering from obesity in 2022. The Prime Minister said that the increasing prevalence of obesity in the country is causing many problems like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, BP, fatty liver, etc.

Overall, changes such as reducing oil consumption by 10 percent, reducing carbohydrate consumption, and exercising daily are said to be important ways to prevent obesity, as suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Reducing cooking oil consumption by 10 percent

Prime Minister Modi, in his Mann Ki Baat, suggested that every individual should reduce their consumption of cooking oil by 10 percent every month. Excessive use of cooking oil increases body temperature, cholesterol and is associated with obesity. This increases the risk of heart diseases.

Prime Minister Modi said that by doing this, we can keep our body healthy. He also said that we should not buy too much cooking oil, but buy 10 percent less.

Dr. Devi Shetty's suggestions

Dr. Devi Shetty, a renowned health expert, said that obesity is increasing due to excessive consumption of carbohydrates. He said that excessive consumption of rice, bread, sugar, as well as excessive use of oil can lead to many problems like cardiovascular diseases and BP.
