The 2026 Startup Battlefield 200 is here — see who made the cut

After months of review, the 2026 Startup Battlefield 200 is finally here. The annual program selects 200 early-stage startups from thousands of applications submitted by founders around the world. This year’s cohort represents a broad mix of industries, including artificial intelligence, health care, climate technology, robotics, consumer products, financial services, enterprise software, and even space exploration.

Selected companies will travel to San Francisco in October to exhibit at Disrupt 2026, scheduled for October 13–15 at Moscone West. The event is built around live demos, competitive pitches, and direct connections with top global venture capitalists. For early-stage founders, a spot in this lineup can be a turning point.

Startup Battlefield’s track record

Startup Battlefield has long been one of the most credible launchpads in the technology industry. Alumni from previous years include Dropbox, Cloudflare, and Discord, all of which went on to become category-defining companies. According to figures shared by program organizers, the broader Battlefield alumni network has collectively raised more than $32 billion and generated 250 exits.

The 2026 cohort was selected with the same mission in mind: identify startups with real differentiation, strong founding teams, and meaningful market potential. The 200 companies named this year will get access to mentorship, media exposure, investor meetings, and a stage designed to amplify their story at a critical early moment.

This year’s event is also supported by Google for Startups and SAP, the premier sponsors helping early-stage teams build, scale, and succeed in a competitive funding environment.

What makes this list stand out

Unlike a traditional ranking or an awards list, the Startup Battlefield 200 is a competition cohort. Every selected startup is expected to showcase its product, tell its story, and compete in front of decision-makers who can accelerate its growth. The top 20 finalists from this list will be revealed live on Day 1 of Disrupt, October 13, and the eventual winner will take home $100,000 in equity-free funding plus the iconic Disrupt Cup.

For investors, the list functions as a scouting guide to some of the most promising seed-stage and early-stage companies in the world. For tech enthusiasts, it offers a snapshot of the ideas that could reshape daily life in the coming years.

A snapshot of emerging priorities

Looking across the categories, several patterns are clear. Climate technology remains a major priority, with companies focused on carbon removal, water systems, clean energy, and sustainable materials. Health care also retains a strong presence, spanning biotech research, medical devices, mental wellness, fertility care, and hospital workflow tools. The enterprise technology section is one of the largest, reflecting sustained investor interest in productivity software, AI assistants, developer tools, and data intelligence.

Fintech companies selected this year are focused on everything from consumer banking and payment infrastructure to tax preparation and data verification. Cybersecurity startups are tackling deepfakes, identity fraud, cloud security, and threat detection. There is also a meaningful group of space and defense startups, which points to the continued expansion of commercial space activity and national security innovation.

Several companies in the consumer category are building AI-powered beauty, audio, and community products. Edtech teams are experimenting with AI tutors and credentialing platforms. Logistics and manufacturing startups are using robotics and software to make physical supply chains more efficient. The diversity of the list highlights how deeply technology is being integrated into traditional industries.

What happens next for selected companies

Startups that made the list should watch their inboxes carefully over the coming days. Organizers say they will be in touch shortly with time-sensitive next steps related to attending Disrupt, preparing pitches, and coordinating exhibit logistics. For companies that applied but did not make the cut, an official update will also be sent. Because of the volume of applications, organizers cannot respond to individual inquiries about an application’s status.

The public announcement of the top 20 finalists will take place live on Day 1 of Disrupt, October 13. From that point, the competition will move quickly, with live pitches, judging by top-tier investors, and audience engagement building toward the final awards moment. The stakes are significant: beyond the $100,000 equity-free prize, the winning team earns the Disrupt Cup and a permanent place in the event’s history.

Join the 2026 event

Disrupt 2026 will take place October 13–15 at Moscone West in San Francisco. Attendees can expect to see live demos of never-before-seen technology, hear founders pitch their companies on a major stage, and meet the people building the next generation of startups. VCs looking for breakout investment opportunities, founders scouting for ideas, and tech enthusiasts who want to stay ahead of the curve are all encouraged to join.

Tickets are currently available, but prices are expected to increase in September. Anyone interested in witnessing the Startup Battlefield 200 live should secure a pass before the next pricing deadline. Startup Battlefield 2026 is proudly presented by Google for Startups and SAP.
