December 2025

December saw 300 employees laid off across multiple companies. Zebra Technologies is winding down its autonomous mobile robot (AMR) business, built after acquiring Fetch Robotics in 2021. Amazon cut 84 jobs in Seattle and Bellevue, affecting roles in engineering, recruiting, software development, and product management. Lusha laid off 8% of its workforce (about 24 employees) as part of a restructuring to reallocate resources toward new growth areas. Tenstorrent reduced its headcount by 7.5% to about 1,000, shifting focus from enterprise customers to individual developers. Payoneer let go of about 30 employees in Israel and a similar number overseas, totaling roughly 6% of its global workforce. VSCO laid off 24 employees as it refocused on tools for professional photographers. Mobileye cut 200 employees (about 4% of its global workforce), mostly in Israel. Inside Inbound Health shut down on December 1 after raising over $50 million.

November 2025

November experienced 8,932 layoffs. Intel eliminated 59 Bay Area jobs as part of its stated goal of significant workforce reductions. HP plans to cut 4,000 to 6,000 jobs worldwide by 2028 to streamline operations and leverage AI. Apple cut several sales positions handling accounts for businesses, schools, and government agencies as it streamlines sales processes. Monarch Tractor may lay off over 100 workers or even shut down, according to internal memos. Playtika announced plans to lay off about 20% of its workforce (700–800 employees). Pipe laid off about 200 employees (half its workforce) as it pushes toward profitability. Synopsys plans to cut roughly 10% of its workforce (about 2,000 employees) as part of restructuring tied to its acquisition of Ansys. Deepwatch laid off between 60 and 80 employees, citing AI as a factor. Axonius cut roughly 10% of its staff (about 100 employees) to streamline operations. MyBambu closed permanently, laying off all 141 employees. Hewlett-Packard removed 52 positions at its San Jose campus.

October 2025

October saw 18,510 layoffs. Amazon cut up to 30,000 corporate roles (later revised to 14,000) and laid off 660 employees across multiple New York City offices. Rivian cut 600 jobs (4% of its workforce) amid an EV market pullback. Meta laid off approximately 600 employees across its AI infrastructure units. Applied Materials cut about 4% of its workforce (roughly 1,400 jobs) to streamline operations amid tighter U.S. semiconductor export controls. Handshake laid off around 100 employees (15% of its U.S. workforce). Smartsheet laid off over 120 employees amid a leadership transition. September 2025

September recorded 4,152 layoffs. Just Eat eliminated around 450 jobs as part of a cost and operations review. Fiverr cut around 250 jobs (30% of its workforce) as it pushes to become a leaner, AI-focused company. ZipRecruiter closed its Tel Aviv development center, cutting about 80 jobs. GupShup laid off at least 100 employees, just months after cutting nearly 200 jobs. xAI laid off about a third of its data annotation team (roughly 500 jobs). Rivian laid off about 200 workers (1.5% of its staff) due to the end of federal EV tax credits. Oracle cut 101 jobs in Seattle and 254 in San Francisco. Salesforce trimmed another 262 jobs at its San Francisco headquarters.

August 2025

August saw 6,302 layoffs. Cisco eliminated 221 positions across Milpitas and San Francisco offices. Restaurant365 laid off about 100 employees (9% of its workforce). Oracle cut 101 jobs in Santa Clara and 161 in Seattle. F5 cut 106 positions in Washington state. Peloton cut 6% of its workforce in its sixth layoff in just over a year. Kaltura cut 10% of its workforce (about 70 employees) as part of cost-saving efforts. Yotpo laid off about 200 employees (34% of its global workforce) as it shut down email and SMS marketing operations. Windsurf laid off 30 employees and offered buyouts to the remaining 200. Wondery cut 100 jobs, with CEO Jen Sargent departing as Amazon reorganizes audio operations.

July 2025

July had 16,327 layoffs. Atlassian cut 150 roles in customer service and support following platform enhancements. Consensys cut about 7% of its workforce (47 employees) as part of a push toward profitability. Zeen shut down operations after raising $9 million. Scale AI laid off around 200 employees (14% of its workforce) and severed ties with 500 contractors. Lenovo plans to cut more than 100 U.S. full-time jobs (3% of its workforce). Intel planned to lay off nearly 2,400 workers in Oregon. Indeed and Glassdoor plan to eliminate approximately 1,300 jobs combined as they combine operations and focus on AI. June 2025

June experienced 1,606 layoffs. TomTom cut 300 jobs (10% of its workforce) as part of organizational restructuring. Rivian reduced headcount by approximately 140 employees (1% of its workforce). Bumble cut approximately 240 jobs (30% of its workforce) to enhance operational efficiency. Klue laid off 85 employees (40% of its workforce). Google downsized its smart TV division by 25% of its 300-member team. Intel laid off 15% to 20% of its Intel Foundry division starting in July. Playtika let go of around 90 employees. Airtime let go of around 25 employees. Microsoft laid off more employees, just weeks after announcing a job cut of over 6,500 in May.

May 2025

May saw 10,397 layoffs. Hims & Hers downsized its workforce by letting go of 68 employees (4% of its total staff). Amazon laid off around 100 employees from its devices and services division. Microsoft cut over 6,500 jobs (3% of its worldwide workforce). Chegg let go of 248 employees (22% of its workforce) as students opt for AI tools. Match reduced its workforce by 13%. CrowdStrike laid off 5% of its global workforce (around 500 people). General Fusion cut roughly 25% of its workforce. Deep Instinct reduced headcount by 20 employees (10% of total). Beam shut down operations, letting go of approximately 200 employees.

April 2025

April recorded more than 24,500 layoffs. NetApp eliminated 700 jobs (6% of its workforce). Electronic Arts let go of approximately 300 to 400 employees. Expedia laid off around 3% of its employees. Brightcove laid off 198 employees (two-thirds of its U.S. workforce) after being acquired by Bending Spoons. Acxiom laid off 130 employees (3.5% of total). Sequoia Capital closed its Washington, D.C., office and let go of its policy team. Siemens announced plans to let go of approximately 5,600 jobs globally. HelloFresh laid off 273 employees and closed a distribution center. Otorio cut 45 employees after being acquired. ActiveFence reduced 22 employees (7% of its workforce). February 2025

February experienced 16,234 layoffs. HP cut up to 2,000 jobs as part of its "Future Now" restructuring plan. GrubHub announced 500 job cuts after being sold to Wonder Group. Autodesk laid off 1,350 employees (9% of its workforce). Google cut employees in People Operations and cloud teams, offering voluntary exit to U.S.-based People Operations employees. Nautilus reduced headcount by 25 employees (16% of total). eBay cut a few dozen employees in Israel. Starbucks cut 1,100 jobs in reorganizing effort affecting tech workers. January recorded 2,403 layoffs. Cushion shut down operations. Placer.ai laid off 150 employees (18% of its workforce) to reach profitability. Amazon laid off dozens of workers in its communications department. Stripe laid off 300 people but planned to grow total headcount by 17%. Textio laid off 15 employees. Pocket FM cut 75 employees. Aurora Solar cut 58 employees. Meta cut 5% of its staff targeting "low performers." Wayfair cut up to 730 jobs (3% of its workforce). Pandion shut down operations, affecting 63 employees. Icon laid off 114 employees as part of team realignment. Altruist eliminated 37 jobs (roughly 10% of its workforce). Aqua Security cut dozens of employees.
